Sir Edmund Hillary

A person I have always been fascinated with. I love the mountains, and admire how tough Sir Edmund Hillary was. He and Tenzing Norgay are an inspiration, although I know I will never do it like they did!

Roberto Clemente2

Roberto Clemente

The baseball legend, Roberto Clemente was also very active with charitable works in his home country of Puerto Rico and Latin America. He died in a plane crash while delivering aid to earthquake victims in Nicaragua. Kellogg’s wanted to honor the Hall of Fame-er with a commemorative cereal box, and my illustration was used for promotional artwork.

Walt

Walt Whitman

A friend commissioned me to draw this for his wife. She is a writer herself, and Walt Whitman is a particular favorite. It was done after a famous photograph of him with my own added “twist”. It looks very nice framed in their dining room.

LeoMinstrel

Uncle Leo

He’s not my uncle, but is he a great and generous friend. This was done after a photo back in his “younger” days. Given the time period and the subject, the paisleys just “floated” to mind.
